During the course of each year we are introduced to a large number of other, local and national, organisations who share common interests with our Branch and who we feel our Members might be interested to hear about.

Having only ten regular meetings a year we are often unable to provide our Membership with a regular update on the activities of these groups so have set out, below, a number of links to their individual websites ....


Commonwealth War Graves Commission

The CWGC commemorate the 1,700,000 men and women of the Commonwealth forces who died in the two world wars.Their cemeteries, burial plots and memorials are a lasting tribute to those who died in some 154 countries across the world and their Registers record details of Commonwealth war dead so that graves or names on memorials can be located.

St George's School, Harpenden

Founded in 1907, as one of the country's first co-educational boarding schools. Now an Academy, all-ability, Christian Foundation but non-denominational school. St George's occupies an attractive open site in the small Hertfordshire town of Harpenden. The Herts & Beds Branch of the WFA currently holds it's regular monthly, Friday evening, meetings in one of the classrooms at the school.

War Memorials Trust

The War Memorials Trust works for the protection and conservation of war memorials in the UK. They provide advice and information to anyone as well as running grant schemes for the repair and conservation of war memorials. Their website provides a range of resources to help users discover more about war memorials and their preservation.
